Rule 1: Great content - Once someone has visited your web site, you want them to read what you have to offer or say. Adding new content regularly keeps people coming back...This has a knock on effect of them passing your web site link onto others..

Rule 2: Motivation - You want them to contact you and inquire about your service or offer (or indeed buy your product online). Motivating them to purchase your product or service rather than that of your competitors.

Rule 3: Navigation - Easy to understand web site navigation and structure - there is nothing more annoying than trying to find that nugget of information hidden away somewhere 'out of site' - make it easy for people to find what you have.

Rule 4 : Speed and accessibility - You want your visitors to have the information required quickly - clean, lean and fast downloading web sites get more consistent traffic. See also Rule 7

Rule 5 : Consistency - Uncluttered structure throughout your web site shows professionalism - keep in mind the image of your company or idea and have this used as an extension of your business image.

Rule 6 : Simplicity - Keep it simple, annoying intro screens, slow loading flash banners and other detractors from your content discourage further investigation of your web site - keep these things in moderation or an option if they wish to access them.

Rule 7 : Web Standards - We now adhere to the W3C web Consortium - What this means is that all our web sites are built using XHTML and CSS. This gives a client confidence knowing that our designs are future proof, much much quicker to download (less bandwidth) and can be seen accurately in all modern browsers e.g. Internet Explorer, Netscape, Mozilla etc. This has a knock on effect of ensuring your website can be accurately seen by a much wider audience
